Confidence without borders.
In June 2011, Reel Beauty launched its first international program at the Uzima Centre in Tanzania with 30 girls. Our ten-week curriculum was translated into Swahili to create a space for confidence, self-esteem, and personal growth.
Through home and school visits, Deida and the Reel Beauty team learned more about the girls' hopes, their families, and the challenges of getting to school.
Workshops including Heart II Heart and The “It” Factor help girls recognize their inner beauty and address the experiences that affect their self-esteem.
THE BONGO BEAD PROJECT

Girls at the Uzima Centre hand-make paper beads to help support their education and transportation to school.
Reel Beauty's partnership with the Uzima Center and the Bongo Bead Project raises awareness of educational needs and supports girls and their families in Mwanza.
Our support has also extended to family needs, including home repairs, income-generating projects, and access to water.
